Locust Borer

The Locust Borer emerges from Locust trees in late August and September.  Their emergence coincides with blooming goldenrod and they eat the pollen of this plant
Look for Locust Borers feeding on goldenrod in September. The adults emerge from locust trees at this time of year and feed on pollen. Eggs laid under the bark of locust in the fall will produce larvae that feed on wood until they mature the following year.
